We Shall Walk Through the Valley (in peace)
(traditional gospel)
sung February 10, 2019
The original author of this American (possibly Afro-American) spiritual, which is at least partially inspired by Psalm 23, is unknown.
It was included in The Story of the Jubilee Singers; With Their Songs by J.T.B. Marsh, which was first published in 1880. Based on this, it is assumed that the hymn is now in the public domain.
With meter 9.9.10.9, it is set to a tune, composer also unknown, which is sometimes called PEACEFUL VALLEY. A great many choral settings have also been published.
(Very simple and authentic)
(Beautiful, I really like this)
(Very fancy)

There Is A Balm In Gilead

Here are some different arrangements of this traditional African American spiritual. We can include some of these features as we develop. For now we are starting with a simple a cappella arrangement that we can learn and perform quickly.
There's many more secular harmony songs here, here and great voices here.
